We would like to add an Integrated Structural Assembly of Advanced Composites (ISAAC) Technician who has familiarity with aircraft structural mechanics, a solid background in technician skills to our on-site team in Hampton, Virginia.
This position requires general technical support for a wide range of operations in support of the Integrated Structural Assembly of Advanced Composites (ISAAC) customer's research objectives. The customers may include, but not be limited to: the Advanced Composites Program (ACP), Composites Technology Program (CTE), Generations Orbit 1 (GO-1) Project, and Advanced Air Transportation Technologies (AATT) Program. The successful candidate will support operations associated with the ISAAC robot to include all work in the workcell. This work includes, but is not limited to, cleaning and maintaining the robot end effectors, setting up ISAAC workcell for fabrication of parts, and assisting with building panels and complex parts. The successful candidate will be the primary material handler for ISAAC spools and consumables, including inventory and tracking, which requires entry of data into and generation of material reports from an Excel spreadsheet. This position requires the successful candidate to qualify as a certified crane and forklift operator and operate lifting equipment as directed to support ISAAC workcell operations. Additional duties will include performance of contamination control operations for the ISAAC team, and the cleaning of tooling/ equipment that are to be taken into the workcell/clean room.
- High school graduate.
- 10+ years’ work experience is preferred.
- Military experience a plus.
- Some college/university level and/or continuing education is a plus.
- Solid mechanical background.
- Knowledge of composite materials is a plus
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong problem solving skills.
- Ability enter data into spreadsheets and perform basic spreadsheet operations (e. g., Excel)
