The Optically Stimulated Electron Emission (OSEE)  instrument system uses Ultraviolet (UV) light to detect surface cleanliness of a conductive substrate.  A handheld instrument is pressed against a surface to be tested, and after a few seconds a cleanliness level signal is generated.
